Oceans of Fun History
1982 - • Oceans Of Fun, a 60-acre water park with over three dozen water-related attractions, opens. Costing over $7 million, the Midwest's largest water park can accomodate up to 7,500 guests daily.
1983 - • The Typhoon is added, as one of the world's longest dual speed racing slides
• Frisbee Folf, is added behind Surf City.
• Treasure Island and Bobbin'N Wobblin is added in Neptune's Lagoon.
1985 - • Oceans of Fun entertains its 1 millionth visitor.
1987 - • the Caribbean Cooler, an 810-foot lazy river float trip is added.
1988 - • Oceans of Fun entertains its 2 millionth visitor.
1991 - • Crocodile Isle, a new area for children is added.
• Oceans of Fun breaks its attendance record, entertaining 361,771 guests.
1992 - • The Monsoon is Added.
• Neptune's Lagoon is removed.
• Coconut Cove, a huge superpool for the entire family is added.
• The Same-Day Gateway, linking Oceans of Fun and Worlds of Fun is added.
• Oceans of Fun entertains its 3 millionth visitor.
1995 - • Captain Kidds, an interactive play ship for children is added to Crocodile Isle.
• Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are purchased from Hunt Midwest Enterprises by Cedar Fair L.P.
1999 - • The New 72' tall Water Slide, Hurricane Falls is added to Oceans of Fun.
• Frisbee Folf is removed.
